While perhaps best known as the matriarch of the winningest tennis family in modern British history, JUDY MURRAY has constructed a much wider life in tennis.

As a junior, she was the best tennis player in Scotland.  And while her stint playing on the pro tour was short-lived, she continued to work in the sport she loved, becoming an undeniable fixture in the tennis world. First as a tennis coach. Then as a tennis parent. And then as captain of England’s Fed Cup team. Currently she continues to coach and advocate for the sport.

While Jamie Murray won 7 grand slam doubles championships, and Andy Murray won 3 grand slam singles titles and a gold medal, JUDY MURRAY was there through it all. Training them as kids, coaching them through their junior victories and supporting them as adults.

On this episode JUDY MURRAY tells us how a dastardly trip to Spain ended her professional career but set her on her path to tennis prominence. She breaks down the decision-making process surrounding Andy Murray’s hip injury. She describes how tennis took hold in Scotland and where it needs to go from here. And she tells us what you must do when you have one kid who finals the Orange Bowl and another one who wins it.
