ROMAN PROKES is a master racquet technician who has fashioned racquets for countless professionals as well as amateurs. Andre Agassi devoted a page in his biography to him. From Agassi to McEnroe to Djokovic, Prokes has not only altered their racquets but helped to transform their games. He molds grips, weights frames and rearranges stringing patterns. All in an effort to maximize the potential of the player. He has shops in New York and Florida and travels with the US Davis Cup team. He also works closely with the USTA in Lake Nona.
On this episode, ROMAN PROKES talks about which current trends he’s seeing in tennis technology. He explains what America required of him when he came over from Czechoslovakia. And he lets us know what – specifically – he did to Novak Djokovic’s racquet that put him back at #1.
