ANDRÉ SÁ is one of the most likable guys on the tour. And that’s probably why Tennis Australia recently named the Brazilian head of player liaisons. Before that, he had the same job with the ITF. And before that, he had an impressive professional career, beating Mark Phillipousis, Andy Roddick and Feliciano Lopez and is part of the illustrious final 8 club at Wimbledon.
He spent 5 years at the Bollettieri Academy, coming up with the likes of Tommy Haas and Max Mirnyi. And as a doubles player, he won 11 titles and a gold medal at the Pan American Games.
On this episode, Brazilian stalwart, ANDRÉ SÁ explains what next year’s “Summer Down Under” will look like. He tells us what got the cab drivers in Brazil to realize that a tennis racquet was not just a small guitar. And he tells the story of what it was like to challenge Great Britain’s greatest hope on center court of Wimbledon.
